چکیده
We here present the luminosity function (LF) of globular clusters (GCs) in five nearby spiral galaxies using samples GC candidates selected Hubble Space Telescope mosaic images F435W, F555W and F814W filters. Our search, which surpasses fractional area covered by all previous searches these galaxies, has resulted detection 158 M81, 1123 M101, 226 NGC4258, 293 M51 173 NGC628. The LFs constructed from this dataset, after correcting for relatively small contamination reddened young clusters, are log-normal nature, was hitherto established only Milky Way (MW) Andromeda among galaxies. magnitude at turn-over (TO) corresponds to Mv(TO)=-7.41+/-0.14 four with types Sc or earlier, excellent agreement Mv(TO)=-7.40+/-0.10 MW. TO is equivalent a mass ~3x10^5 Msun an old, metal-poor population. Mv(TO) fainter ~1.16 fifth galaxy, type Scd. dependence on implies that GCs early-type spirals classical GCs, have universal TO, whereas population late-type dominated old disk general less massive. radial density distribution our sample follows S\'ersic exponential power-law indices, effective radii 4.0-9.5 kpc. mean specific frequency 1.10+/-0.24, incompleteness factors.

Luminosity Functions for Globular Clusters
We present theoretical mass-luminosity relations and luminosity functions (LFs) for Globular Cluster stars, from luminosities above the horizontal branch down to the minimum luminosity of hydrogen burning stars. The LFs are available for metal mass fraction Z from Z = 10 ?4 to Z = 4 10 ?3 , in the Johnson band V and in the Bessell-Cousins band I, and are based on tracks especially computed for ...
متن کاملBulge Globular Clusters in Spiral Galaxies
There is now strong evidence that the metal-rich globular clusters (GC) near the center of our Galaxy are associated with the Galactic bulge rather than the disk as previously thought. Here we extend the concept of bulge GCs to the GC systems of nearby spiral galaxies. In particular, the kinematic and metallicity properties of the GC systems favor a bulge rather than a disk origin. The number o...
متن کاملThe Luminosity Distribution of Globular Clusters in Dwarf Galaxies
The majority of the globular clusters associated with the Sagittarius dwarf galaxy are faint. In this respect it differs significantly from the globular cluster systems surrounding typical giant galaxies. The observation that most of globular clusters in the outer halo of the Galaxy are also sub-luminous may be understood by assuming that these clusters once also belonged to faint clusterrich d...
متن کاملRRLyrae variables in globular clusters and nearby galaxies
I point out that the Oosterhoff dichotomy for globular cluster and field RRLyrae stars may place the strongest constraints so far on the number of dwarf spheroidal-like protogalactic fragments that may have contributed to the formation of the Galactic halo. The first calibration of the RRLyrae period-luminosity relation in I, J , H, K taking evolutionary effects into account is provided. Proble...
متن کاملThe UV luminosity function of nearby clusters of galaxies
We present the UV composite luminosity function for galaxies in the Virgo, Coma and Abell 1367 clusters. The luminosity function (LF) is well fitted by a Schechter function with M * UV − 5 log h 75 = −20.75 ± 0.40 and α = −1.50 ± 0.10 and does not differ significantly from the local UV luminosity function of the field. This result is in agreement with recent studies carried out in the Hα and B-...
